- Acura is deactivating AcuraLink across multiple models starting July 21, 2025.
- The decision affects vehicles from 2014 to 2022, including the flagship NSX.
- It has not explained why it is dropping support for AcuraLink in these models.
As modern vehicles become increasingly reliant on cloud-connected services, the lifespan of those services is becoming just as important as the hardware they’re tied to. For the past decade, AcuraLink has been Acura’s go-to suite of connected car features, offering things like remote access, diagnostics, and other digital conveniences. But that’s about to change for many owners.

According to an email sent to some subscribers, Acura is preparing to pull the plug on AcuraLink for several of its older models. And while “older” is doing a lot of heavy lifting here, some of these cars are anything but ancient.
A screenshot of the email shared on Reddit reveals that starting July 21, 2025, AcuraLink will be disabled on several models, including the 2014-2020 RLX, 2015-2020 TLX, and 2016-2022 ILX. The 2014-2020 MDX and 2016-2018 RDX will also lose access. Even those who splurged on a 2017-2022 NSX, shelling out hundreds of thousands of dollars, will soon find their AcuraLink services cut off.
What Features Are Disappearing?
The email doesn’t explain why AcuraLink is being phased out, but the change is likely to frustrate many owners. Losing AcuraLink means losing a range of services that go well beyond simple infotainment. Scheduled service reminders, roadside assistance, recall alerts, emergency call functions, remote locking and unlocking, security alerts, and location tracking through Find My Car will all be discontinued.
For those who paid for AcuraLink Premium, the concierge service, which could help with restaurant reservations, travel bookings, and more, will also be gone. Once the system is shut down, the AcuraLink app will be updated and will no longer support these vehicles at all.
Carscoops has reached out to Acura for additional context and will update this story if more details emerge. For now, here’s what we do know.
Owners with an active subscription extending beyond the shutdown date are promised a pro-rated refund for the unused portion of their plan. Acura says these refunds should be issued by August 4, 2025. Additionally, starting June 18, 2025, owners of affected vehicles will no longer be able to enroll in or renew monthly or annual subscription packages for AcuraLink.
While the decision may make sense from a technical or cost standpoint, it leaves plenty of drivers with newer-model cars and fewer digital features than they had yesterday. As automakers increasingly rely on subscription-based services to add value and functionality, the expiration date on those services is becoming more than just a fine print detail, it’s actually something owners will want to keep a close eye on.
