Shortly after expanding the Xiaomi 17 series in global regions, rumors regarding its successor, the Xiaomi 18 lineup, have started surfacing online. Earlier this month, we heard that Xiaomi may catch up to rivals, like OPPO and Vivo, by offering dual 200MP cameras on the Xiaomi 18 Pro. It may feature the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 SoC. Now, the latest leak brings us the camera details of the Xiaomi 18 Ultra, which will reportedly include a quad setup.
Xiaomi 18 Ultra may feature quad-cameras
Tipster Smart Pikachu, in a latest post, says that Xiaomi 18 Ultra is still on track to launch in December. Much like the Xiaomi 17 Ultra (review). This apparently contradicts previous rumors that said the flagship would launch much earlier. He further adds that the camera setup will see a major upgrade. The Xiaomi 18 Ultra is reportedly being tested with a quad-camera setup. That said, the sensor details are not out at the moment.
This will be a major change over the Xiaomi 17 Ultra, which moved away from the quad-camera setup and rocked a triple-camera setup with a mechanical zoom solution. If the leak turns out to be true, the quad-camera setup on the Xiaomi 18 Ultra may offer more focal length options and more versatility.

The phone may launch in December
As a refresher, before the Xiaomi 17 Ultra, Xiaomi’s Ultra flagships had a quad-camera setup. The Xiaomi 15 Ultra offered a 50MP main, a 50MP ultrawide, a 50MP telephoto lens, and a 200MP periscope telephoto. Unless there’s a new camera technology this year, the Xiaomi 18 Ultra could use a similar configuration. The company is likely to continue its partnership with Leica.
Other details of the Xiaomi 18 Ultra are not available at the moment. We’re many months away from an official launch, so we should come across more such leaks in the coming days.
