While Summer has just started, it’s already time to start thinking about back-to-school season, and Samsung has the perfect laptop for students this year. That’s the Galaxy Book 5.
The Galaxy Book 5 comes in a few different flavors. So there’s the regular Galaxy Book 5 Pro which is a high-end laptop available in 14- and 16-inch sizes, with Intel’s Core Ultra 7 processors and up to 1TB of storage. Then there’s the Galaxy Book 5 360, which is a 2-in-1 in case you couldn’t tell by the name. It does feature a lower-resolution display at FHD, but still has the same specs as the Intel Core Ultra 7 processor. Finally, the Galaxy Book 5 Pro 360. This is the same as the regular 360 model, but with a 3K AMOLED display like the non-touchscreen option.
All three of these are really great options, and all three are very similarly priced right now. The Galaxy Book 5 and Galaxy Book 5 360 both start at $1,349. The Galaxy Book 5 Pro 360 is currently discounted to $1,499.
On top of that, Samsung also offers a 15% student discount across most of its products, including the Galaxy Book 5.

Samsung Galaxy Book 5 Pro
The Samsung Galaxy Book 5 Pro comes in 14 or 16-inch sizes, with the Intel Core Ultra 7, and at least 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. The Galaxy Book 5 Pro does offer option to upgrade to 32GB of RAM and 1TB of storage if needed.
How does the Galaxy Book 5 help students?
We already know that the Galaxy Book 5 series is a great laptop, because Samsung does put out quality products. But what features does the Galaxy Book 5 series have that can help students this school year?

Seamless ecosystem
Samsung is one of the only PC manufacturers that has this type of ecosystem, besides perhaps Apple. You can get a Samsung phone, tablet, watch, ring, and laptop, and they all work together. One of our favorite features is Quick Share. This allows you to easily transfer class notes, files, and PDFs between your Galaxy devices. So you could quickly take photos with your Galaxy S25 Ultra and transfer it over to your Galaxy Book 5 in just a few seconds.
Samsung also has its own Notes app, which syncs across devices. Starting a back-to-school shopping list on your laptop? Well, you can now access it on your Galaxy S24 FE. And finally, are Samsung Pass and Samsung Wallet. These are both very useful features that are available across the Samsung ecosystem.
Second Screen
With Samsung’s ecosystem, you could also pick up a Galaxy Tab to use a second monitor for research, writing, or even in your Zoom classes. And you can control both devices with the same keyboard and mouse setup.
A battery that lasts
We’ve all been there. Using your laptop in class to take notes, but the battery is running low so you do things like turning down the brightness so it’ll last longer. Well, with the Galaxy Book 5, that’s not a problem. In reviews, the Galaxy Book 5 series have lasted nearly 24 hours of constant usage. So it should be able to get you through a day without any issues. And it’s still light and ultra-portable.
Performance for Work and Play
Finally, let’s talk performance. The Intel Core Ultra 7 – which is the only processor option for the entire Galaxy Book 5 lineup – is a powerhouse. Now, unfortunately, it does not have discrete graphics, and uses Intel Arc graphics, but that should be plenty for most gaming, as well as work. Whether you’re editing videos, working in Microsoft Excel, or looking to play some games during a study break, the Galaxy Book 5 can handle it all.
All three models do come with 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage standard. Which is plenty for most activities.
Grab a Galaxy Book 5 today!
Samsung’s Galaxy Book 5 series is a pretty impressive series of laptops. Whether you’re grabbing the Galaxy Book 5 Pro, Galaxy Book 5 Pro 360, or the Galaxy Book 5 360, you really can’t go wrong with any of them.
Our pick, currently, is going to be the Galaxy Book 5 Pro 360, and that’s mostly because of the $200 discount it currently has. Additionally, you can trade-in your current laptop for up to $500 – only the Galaxy Book 4 is going for the full $500, while Apple laptops are going for $300, so it might be better to simply sell your old laptop, yourself.
