Apologies for coming off like one of those “observational humor” comedians, but it’s really the only way to phrase the question: what’s the deal with model years on cars? Nobody brags that they got the new “2025 Nintendo Switch,” it’s just the “Switch 2.” Even when we look at other motorized products, like lawnmowers, it’s just a “Craftsman M090,” not a “2025 Craftsman M090.” So who came up with this and why do we have to check the calendar before buying a 2025 Chevy Silverado?
