Mazda started 2025 off right by taking a clear lead in the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety’s award roundup, scoring eight Top Safety Pick+ awards. Astonishingly, that even includes its small Mazda 3 Sedan and Hatchback – despite now being in their 7th model year. As far as safety awards go, this is like when one country at the Olympics takes home more gold medals than anyone else. Mazda currently has 12 new models listed for sale, so this means that you could buy a Mazda at random, and you’ve got a two-out-of-three chance that you’re driving something that’s earned the highest safety honors.
