Suicide doors, like rear-mounted engines and pop-up headlights, are on a long list of features that aren’t exactly must-haves for a typical car buyer, but they add a certain cool factor that can’t be denied. Unfortunately, these privileges are mostly reserved for the upper echelon of automotives. The upcoming Genesis GV90 is planned to have suicide doors, but the base MSRP is already being estimated in the $100,000 range. The relatively new Mazda MX-30, discontinued in the US after the 2023 model year, featured freestyle doors, but we found the car to be overpriced even at a modest $34,110 starting MSRP.
