How much would you be willing to pay for a custom-built Mercedes inspired by some of the finest Batmobiles and fully street-legal? Well, someone forked over $270,000 for this wild creation late last year, and it’s perhaps the single craziest Mercedes-based vehicle we’ve ever come across.
What started life as a Mercedes-Benz CL55 AMG has been morphed into something perfect for the silver screen. It was built by Specautotuning in Ukraine and AVG Autos in Germany, at a cost of €251,250 (about $285,200 at current exchange rates), excluding the cost of the donor car.

Over the years, we’ve seen our fair share of Batmobile knockoffs, but this one is something else entirely. Rather than trying to mimic a film car, this custom Batmobile features its own unique design, ensuring it stands out in the sea of Bat-themed vehicles. The bodywork, made from lightweight composites, is as dramatic as you’d expect, and it rides on massive 22.5-inch wheels wrapped in heavy-duty off-road tires.

The custom Batmobile even features special flip-up doors, massive side air intakes, and functional side steps. SBX Cars handled the sale of the car, and while it hasn’t said how long it took to build, it must have been a very long process.
As you’d imagine, you’ll find some remnants of the original Mercedes design in the interior, but it’s been upgraded with a new infotainment screen and an aftermarket steering wheel.
The donor car, the CL 55 AMG, was originally bright orange and had been upgraded by Kleeman with a new exhaust system. Powered by a 5.4-liter supercharged V8 engine, it once delivered a hefty 493 horsepower, making sure it has enough muscle to keep up with its out-of-this-world looks.
While SBX claims in its listing that the car is street legal, it’s worth noting that this may only apply in the United Arab Emirates, where the car was sold. So, unless you’ve got a UAE address, don’t get too excited about driving this thing around your local neighborhood.
