President Trump will hold an Oval Office press conference with adviser Elon Musk on Friday, just two days after Musk announced his government service had come to an end.
The tech billionaire announced his departure Wednesday shortly after voicing concerns about a sweeping tax and spending bill backed by Trump and congressional Republicans, which is expected to add trillions of dollars to the national debt.
“As my scheduled time as a Special Government Employee comes to an end, I would like to thank President @realDonaldTrump for the opportunity to reduce wasteful spending,” Musk wrote on X. His status allowed him to work for the government for 130 days.
Watch the Friday press conference live at 1:30 p.m. EDT.
