President Trump is visiting Arlington National Cemetery on Tuesday morning where he will deliver remarks and take part in a wreath-laying ceremony to honor veterans.
The president’s Veterans Day speech comes a day after the Senate advanced the stopgap funding bill to reopen the government after more than 40 days. The House is expected to take up the vote on Wednesday and, if passed, it will then head to Trump’s desk.
How members of the military would be paid during the shutdown added to pressure on lawmakers to move the deal forward.
The event is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. EST.
