Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Commissioner Marty Makary will give remarks on the Trump administration’s push to lower drug prices.
President Trump announced earlier this month plans to launch TrumpRx.com, an online platform that it says will direct Americans to more affordable medicine. The move came as part of Trump’s “most favored nation” pricing plan.
At least two big drugmakers — Pfizer and AstraZeneca — have already agreed to sell their products in the U.S. at the lowest price they sell in other developed countries, establish direct-to-consumer avenues and not sell new medicine at a cheaper cost in other countries.
The press conference is scheduled to begin at 1:30 p.m. EDT.
