The House Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Health is holding a hearing Wednesday morning on advancing health care through the use of artificial intelligence (AI) technology.
Committee Chair Rep. Brett Guthrie (R-Ky.) and subcommittee chair Rep. Morgan Griffith (R-Va.) in a statement said the committee “has led the charge in exploring how artificial intelligence (AI) can be leveraged across industries.”
“AI technologies present unique opportunities in health care to enhance care delivery, strengthen provider-patient relationships, reduce administrative burdens for clinicians, and empower patients to better navigate the health care system and get the care they need,” the lawmakers wrote.
“This hearing will continue the Committee’s examination of how real-world applications of AI can drive innovation and improve the lives of the American people,” they added.
The event is scheduled to begin at 10:15 a.m. EDT.
