Walmart, is reportedly preparing to expand into the smart TV market by launching its own line of televisions. Recent leak suggests Walmart is working on a device quite similar to the Google TV Streamer as a second generation for its Onn 4K Pro. The rumor also reveals that new Onn Smart TVs are on the way.
Walmart’s upcoming streaming device looks like a clone of the Google TV Streamer
New images shared online suggest that Walmart is developing a second-generation version of its Onn 4K Pro streaming device. The updated model introduces a wider base and a rounded top, marking a clear shift from the earlier compact design launched in 2024. The device includes multiple ports such as USB-C, USB-A, HDMI, and Ethernet, along with what appears to be a physical mute switch for added control.
As said earlier, the design closely resembles the Google TV Streamer. Reports also indicate that current Onn Google TV devices are becoming difficult to find in stock. This hints that a replacement or the successor may be arriving soon. The leak originates from a source known for sharing reliable Google TV-related information from certification and regulatory listings.
Walmart is also working on its own smart TV lineup
Alongside the streaming box, Walmart is reportedly working on a lineup of Onn-branded smart televisions powered by Google TV. Certification listings point to multiple screen sizes, ranging from 55 inches to 75 inches. Since the televisions will run on Google TV, the software experience will be similar to its competitors. However, the tech giant may appease consumers by offering a stronger hardware setup, such as a powerful built-in speaker or higher RAM and storage.
Further, the TVs are believed to be produced with the help of KTC, a manufacturing partner that has worked with brands like Lenovo.
