Based on today’s debut of the Volkswagen ID. CROSS at IAA Mobility in Munich, Germany, it seems as though the company is keen to expand its presence in the cheap-EV class, like the ID.2 (which will be renamed ID. Polo for production). The ID. CROSS, which as its name suggests will blend all-electric propulsion with the company’s T-Cross–segment crossovers, also represents the next generation of VW design, and it rides on a modernized variant of the Modular Electric Matrix (MEB) platform. Previewing a production crossover that goes on sale next summer, the ID. CROSS could have tons of sales potential for the automaker – as long as the price is indeed attainable.
