Verizon recently informed its subscribers that it is cancelling out loyalty discounts. The telecom giant is gearing up to hike prices even for its cheapest plans. Some plans will reportedly see around 150% price increase. This resulted in widespread disappointment among its customers. As a result, some of them are now staring at the exit doors for good, and Verizon is now losing its customers.
Verizon is no longer offering loyalty discounts
Loyal customers of Verizon are now gearing up to leave the network and look for better alternatives. Posts from Reddit and the replies suggest that they are not very happy about losing their loyalty discounts, which was once Verizon’s customer retention strategy, and one that worked out brilliantly.
Earlier, if a Verizon customer inquired about switching to a different carrier, the company’s customer support had the freedom to provide them with lucrative discounts. This stopped them from leaving. This is no longer a reality as the company isn’t offering any such discounts. Verizon is reportedly informing the customer that there’s nothing it can do. The company has been losing its subscribers every month, and it seems to be fine with it.
Verizon seems fine with losing customers
While it’s understandable that Verizon can’t keep offering discounts every time someone calls and threatens to leave, the company has its share of shortcomings, like customer service woes, price hikes, etc. There have been various instances of customers complaining about Verizon.
Though T-Mobile and AT&T are not the perfect networks, as the former has controversies of its own, like a massive data breach, it is Verizon that is losing customers rapidly. It remains to be seen if there will be any change in the attitude, seeing the declining user base.
