A 50,000-square-foot Publix supermarket will anchor a Decatur shopping center. Venture South Investments is helming the project, which includes an outparcel retail building and a smaller building for local businesses. The $30 million project will break ground next year and should open in late 2027.
The Atlanta Business Chronicle reported Venture South Investments purchased the assemblage for nearly $5 million in June.
The developer has already built Publix-anchored shopping centers in Athens, Hampton, Macon, McDonough and Alexander City, Alabama. Ongoing projects stretch from Lady Lake, Florida, to Mauldin, South Carolina.
The DeKalb County project will go up at 1816 Candler Road, at the intersection of Candler and Glenwood roads.
