A sketchy rumor recently said that Samsung is planning to postpone the Galaxy S26 series from January to March next year. It seemed vary far-fetched at the time, but that’s not necessarily the case. A trusted source just confirmed that the launch is indeed getting delayed.
A trusted source has just confirmed that the Galaxy S26 series won’t launch in January
The information comes from Ice Universe, one of the most prominent tipsters out there. He went to Weibo to confirm the information, even though he did not say when the phones would launch. The launch has been delayed, but that doesn’t mean we’ll have to wait until March. That would be a very odd choice for Samsung.
Why is that? Well, Samsung seems to be making some last-minute changes, and that’s never a good thing. The company probably needs more time to get everything in order and prepare enough units.
As many of you know, we’ve exclusively revealed the designs of the Galaxy S26 Pro, Galaxy S26 Edge, and Galaxy S26 Ultra. Well, according to more recent rumors, Samsung is now opting to ditch the Galaxy S26 Pro and Galaxy S26 Edge, and launch the Galaxy S26 and Galaxy S26+ instead.
We don’t know if that will affect the designs of the two phones, or will the company just change the names, but that’s what’s rumored. The Galaxy S26 Ultra model will likely remain unchanged from what we’ve shown you.
The Exynos 2600 could be one of the reasons for the delayed launch
Another reason for the delay could be the Exynos 2600. Samsung started mass-producing that 2nm chip, and it was supposed to be used in half of the Galaxy S26 units worldwide. Well, the company allegedly has some yield issues.
All in all, things are not looking as great for Samsung right now. The company’s market share isn’t exactly booming, and a lot is riding on the Samsung Galaxy S26 series. News that the phones won’t exactly get major upgrades, especially in the camera department, didn’t sit well with users.
It remains to be seen what will come out of all this, but it sure seems like all Galaxy S26 phones are getting delayed, unfortunately.
