Transwestern is building a retail project in The RO, an Upper Kirby mixed-use development. The Houston Business Journal says the company expects to spend at least $34 million on one of the retail buildings it is constructing.
heThe company plans to build a three-story, 108,576-square-foot retail building and parking structure at 3080 Buffalo Speedway.
The project is scheduled to wrap up construction by late 2027. House & Robertson Architects has been tapped to design the new retail building.
The RO’s current phase now under construction includes The Birdsall, Auberge Collection, a luxury hotel and condominium tower that will mark the city’s first property; a sprawling retail village with 80,000 square feet of space devoted to up to eight restaurants; The Clayton, a luxury multifamily community with 317 apartment units; and high-end office space.
The RO’s first phase includes a 145,000-square-foot Class AA office building that is scheduled for tenant occupancy in June 2026.
In all, the project will encompass about 740,000 square feet.
