- GR Yaris now offered with Aero Performance Package for the Japanese market.
- Includes splitter, vented hood, ducts, underbody cover, and adjustable rear wing.
- It’s also expected to be offered in the European market later this year.
Back in April, Toyota unveiled an updated GR Yaris in Japan and teased an Aero Performance Package developed with input from its Gazoo Racing team. Now, the wait is almost over as the package goes on sale in Japan starting October 1, and Toyota has revealed local pricing.
The Aero Performance Package consists of six upgrades designed to improve cooling and aerodynamics. Developed by Toyota Gazoo Racing with input from professional drivers in the Super Taikyu Series and All Japan Rally Championship, the kit will be available on two trims: the stripped-out RC and the flagship RZ “High Performance.”

The vented hood mirrors the shape of carbon fiber hood of the hardcore GRMN Yaris but it is made of aluminum. It is combined with a splitter that reduces front lift and front fender ducts that improve handling and steering feel during nose dives.
The package also includes a flat cover for the fuel tank that optimizes airflow under the vehicle and extra ducts on the rear for reducing the aerodynamic loads on the bumper. Still, the most obvious addition is the large, adjustable rear wing that helps improve stability at high speeds and in hard braking.
Under the hood, the GR Yaris continues with its turbocharged 1.6-liter three-cylinder, producing 300 hp (224 kW / 304 PS) and 400 Nm (295 lb-ft) of torque. Buyers can pair it with a six-speed manual or an eight-speed automatic, both sending power to all four wheels through the rally-bred GR-Four AWD system. The RZ “High Performance” trim also adds Torsen limited-slip differentials and forged BBS aluminum wheels.
Pricing And Availability
Sales of the GR Yaris with the Aero Performance Package will commence in October 1. The new version of the hot hatchback is priced from ¥4,055,000 ($27,500) for the RC trim with the manual gearbox and tops out at ¥5,825,000 ($39,500) for the RZ “High Performance” trim with the eight-speed automatic. In other words, the Aero Performance Package adds ¥495,000 ($3,400) to the price of the GR Yaris compared to the equivalent trims without it.
