Data center supplier TMEIC is spending $48 million on its third Houston-area manufacturing plant. The 267,000-square-foot facility is scheduled for completion in May 2026, with production set to commence in June 2026. Initially, the facility will generate approximately 200 new jobs, with plans to expand employment to 500 positions as operations scale.
Situated on a 20-acre site in Brookshire, the facility will specialize in the production of uninterruptible power supplies and medium-voltage drives. Besides data centers, these products are designed to serve the expanding oil and gas market and other mission-critical applications.
The company has another factory in Brookshire (photo) and one in Katy.
TMEIC will have to employ at least 300 people at the facility by the end of 2027, the first year of the tax abatement period, and maintain that minimum workforce through 2031, the final year of the abatement period.
