Nostalgic Bentley aficionados will love these new Flying Spurs
The Bentley Bentayga SUV may be the British automaker’s best-selling current model, but there’s still something especially dignified about pulling up to your destination in a classic Bentley sedan. To honor three of the most influential sedans throughout its history, Bentley has created three bespoke versions of the 2025 Flying Spur.Â
The three sedans honored by Bentley are the T-Series, Turbo R and 2005 Flying Spur, celebrating their 60th, 40th, and 20th anniversaries, respectively. Through extensive personalization via the Mulliner division, Bentley has tastefully paid tribute to these models with the three new Flying Spurs.

Flying Spur Azure: A Tribute to the T-Series
Bentley Flying Spur Azure and T-Series Twin
The T-Series first showed its face at the 1965 Paris Motor Show, but beneath the then-modern sheet metal was a much more meaningful step forward for Bentley. This was the first model from the brand with a unitary construction monocoque, replacing the individual chassis and coachwork of all prior Bentleys. Like many Bentleys after it, the T-Series relied on effortless power from a large-capacity engine—in this case, it had a 6.2-liter V8.
The modern Flying Spur Azure recalls the T-Series by echoing the older car’s Shell Grey exterior, a finish that extends to the 22-inch wheels. Bright chromework, chrome vertical vanes, and the blue-grey leather interior all also match the T-Series’ specification. Of course, the Flying Spur Azure is in a class of its own with its 671-horsepower hybrid engine and advanced Bentley Dynamic Ride suspension.

Flying Spur Speed: A Tribute to the Turbo R
Bentley Flying Spur Speed and Turbo R Twin
Credited with setting new performance standards and contributing to Bentley’s rebirth, the Turbo R debuted in 1985. The 6- and ¾-liter V8 was boosted by a turbocharger, giving it nearly 300 hp and a 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) time of seven seconds. Roll stiffness was significantly improved, and it’s models like this one that distinguished Bentley from Rolls-Royce as a car for drivers, not just passengers who preferred to be chauffeured around.
It’s fitting that the modern Flying Spur Speed was chosen to pay tribute to the Turbo R, although the only commonality is that the new sedan is turbocharged, too. The Flying Spur Speed’s 4.0-liter V8 plug-in hybrid powertrain now makes 771 hp, enough for a 3.3-second 0-60 sprint time.
This tribute model has the same Brooklands Green paint as the original, and the Monaco Yellow painted coachline also harks back to the turbo R. Linen leather lines the sumptuous cabin, with Cumbrian Green as a secondary shade. Open Pore Dark Burr Walnut over Cumbrian Green Piano veneer, along with Signal Yellow accents, complete the stunning interior.
Mulliner Flying Spur Speed: A Tribute to the 2005 Continental Flying Spur W12
2005 Bentley Continental Flying Spur W12
Fast-forward to 2005, and the first four-door model of Bentley’s Volkswagen AG era arrived. It was majestic in every sense, from its impactful design to the 6.0-liter W12 engine under the hood, which produced 550 hp. The first example of this sedan is finished in Cypress Green with a Saddle hide interior. Cognac is the secondary leather color and it has Burr Walnut veneer.
Like the 2005 Continental Flying Spur W12, the new Mulliner Flying Spur Speed has a Cypress exterior and a leather interior in Special Green and Saddle. The gorgeous dual finish dashboard features Open Pore Dark Burr Walnut and gloss Burr Walnut, the two wood finishes being separated by a Cypress Green pinstripe.Â
Nobody Does a Tribute Model Like Bentley
Bentley Flying Spurs and Classic Twins Bentley
With Mulliner’s expertise at its fingertips, Bentley has come up with some stunning tribute models in recent years. Access to virtually any color combination and material type helps, including the Bentley Paint Shop’s ability to remaster classic hues from many decades ago.
Two years ago, Bentley evoked the spirit of the 1953 R-Type Cabriolet in modern form with a Continental GT Azure. The latter featured the same Old English White paint and Cricket Ball leather interior, and even the Burr Walnut trim was given an aged, natural finish to match the original’s.
And, speaking of legendary Bentleys from the manufacturer’s illustrious past, it will soon revive an iconic name 100 years after it was first launched. What this car will be is unknown, but the Speed Six and supercharged Blower are just two possibilities.
