- Cal’s Motors turned the Toyota Raize into a retro-styled SUV.
- Havana Fruity Pop debuts in bright dessert-themed colors.
- The model retains its 1.2L, 1.0L turbo, or hybrid powertrains.
If you’re drawn to reverse restomods but prefer something a little more compact than the RAV4-based Mitsuoka Buddy, Cal’s Motors might have exactly what you’re after, provided you live in Japan, that is.
The Havana starts life as a Toyota Raize, a small crossover derived from the Daihatsu Rocky, and ends up looking like a scaled-down version of a vintage American SUV, though the resemblance depends a bit on where you’re standing.

The model has been a member of Cal’s Motors lineup for a couple of years, joining similar transformations based on the Suzuki Jimny, Toyota HiAce, and Nissan NV200. Now, the Havana appears in a new special edition called “Fruity Pop.”
As you can guess from the name, the highlight is the vibrant color palette. Buyers can choose from Lemon Sugar, Cacao Whip, Lime Fizz, Peach Bubble, and Orange Sorbet. Each color option is paired with a contrasting white roof and pillars, along with a retro-cool set of Moon Chrome wheels.
The rest of the design is carried over from the regular Havana. The conversion adds bespoke font and rear ends to the Toyota Raize, Daihatsu Rocky, and Subaru Rex triplets, making them virtually unrecognizable.
The redesigned nose is boxier, featuring rectangular LED headlights and plenty of chrome around the grille and bumper for a 1970s-like American vibe.
While the profile remains largely unchanged, the tail end mirrors the front’s styling cues with new taillights, a revised tailgate, and chrome bumper trim.
Cal’s Motors
Cal’s Motors offers a few interior upgrades to match the Havana’s exterior flair. Options include leather-style seat covers, branded floor mats, and a new steering wheel emblem. Tech-savvy buyers can add Alpine equipment such as a 7-inch infotainment touchscreen, upgraded speakers, and a digital rearview mirror.

There are no changes to the underpinnings of the Toyota Raize. The small SUV is available with a naturally-aspirated 1.2-liter engine (FWD), a turbo 1.0-liter (4WD), or a range-extender hybrid setup (FWD).
How Much For The Look?
Pricing starts at ¥4,863,000 (about $31,800 at current exchange rates) for the front-wheel-drive gasoline version, or ¥5,163,000 ($33,800) for the four-wheel-drive and hybrid models. Buyers can also personalize their Havana further with accessories like a roof rack, Woodgrain decals, and various alloy wheel options.
