After we released CADs of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 and the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Wide, MyMobiles has partnered with Onleaks to release the Galaxy Z Flip 8 CADs. And it looks pretty much like we’d expect.
Samsung is keeping that full cover-display look this year, though the bezels do look to be a bit thinner this time around. Still a dual-camera setup on the back, which will likely be a primary camera and an ultrawide.
The dimensions have changed a little bit. Now we’re looking at 166.8 x 75.4 x 6.6mm when unfolded and 85.4 x 75.4 x 13.2mm when folded. Which makes it about half a millimeter thinner when folded. While other dimensions are about a tenth of a millimeter smaller.
It’s important to keep in mind that these are CAD renderings, which means they might not be 100% accurate, but they are very close. It also means that this is not one of the official colors, at least not a confirmed color for the Galaxy Z Flip 8. While we’d love to see Samsung stick with this blue for another year, it is unlikely.
When will the Galaxy Z Flip 8 launch?
Typically, Samsung would announce its new foldables in July/August. However, there was a leak earlier this week – that comes from Korean TV, actually – that the Unpacked event is set for July 22 in London. That’s a new location for Samsung, as they usually do the foldables Unpacked event in New York City. In fact, last year, it was at the Brooklyn Navy Yard.
I would take that location with a grain of salt, as Samsung does typically do a smaller event in London for the UK and European media. With a bigger event in the US. Which could be the case again this year. But we won’t know for sure for a few more months.
