Google Play’s Best of 2025 awards are in. In other words, Google has announced the very best apps and games of 2025, along with books, of course. Many of you know that this is a yearly thing for the company.
These are Google Play’s best apps & games of 2025
Let’s kick things off with the very best app and game that Google select. The Best Overall App is Focus Friend by Hank Green. This app helps you to “disconnect in order to reconnect,” says Google. It is a very useful tool.
The Best Overall Game, on the other hand, is the Pokémon TCG Pocket. This is a trading card game, as its name says, and Google says that this game “went above and beyond to deliver an authentic version of the iconic trading card game.”
For the Best Multi-device App, Google picked Luminar: Photo Editor. This is an app that many of you are quite familiar with. It is an AI-powered photo-editing app that is supposed to help aspiring photographers and professionals to edit their photos. Google says that it is “a shining example of what a multi-device experience should be: fluid, powerful, and designed to let your creativity flow.”
The Best Multi-device Game is Disney Speedstorm. This is clasified as a “hero-based action combat racer”, and Google says that it found this game to be “a high-octane delight as we raced across iconic locations from Disney worlds.”

Now, Google has added a ton of additional categories for both apps and games, which you can check out here. That’s where you’ll be able to check out the very best book as well, which we won’t focus on.
There are a ton of additional categories for apps there, including Best for Fun, Best for Personal Growth, Best Everyday Essential, Best Hidden Gem, Best for Families, Best for Large Screens, and more.
