- The mild-hybrid turbo 3.0-liter V6 now generates 435 hp and 442.5 lb-ft of torque.
- The sporty estate sits closer to the ground and rides on fresh 20-inch alloy wheels.
The new Audi A5 has arrived, stepping up as the successor to the A4 with sharper styling and plenty of tech. Until the highly anticipated RS5 comes into play, the S5 is the reigning king of the lineup, making it the perfect base for ABT Sportsline’s tuning work. The first package for the S5 includes a mix of aero tweaks, chassis adjustments, and performance boosts, pushing it closer to RS territory.
Let’s start with the good stuff, the engine. ABT’s team has breathed new life into the turbocharged, mild-hybrid 3.0-liter V6. Now, the engine churns out 435 hp (324 kW / 440 PS) and 600 Nm (442.5 lb-ft) of torque. That’s an impressive 72 hp (54 kW) and 50 Nm (37 lb-ft) over the stock version, all thanks to the ABT Power S performance module.

Interestingly, the power output of the modified S5 Avant is just 9 hp (7 kW) shy of the outgoing RS4 Avant, while the torque is identical. Of course, power is transmitted to all four wheels via the S tronic dual-clutch automatic and the quattro sport differential.
The extra grunt is combined with lowering springs, bringing the sporty estate closer to the ground by up to 25 mm (1 inch). Furthermore, there is a new set of 20-inch ABT Prime alloy wheels with a five-spoke design and a glossy black finish.
The new wheels and lowered stance aren’t the only upgrades that set the ABT-tuned S5 Avant apart from the standard model. Audi Sport enthusiasts will spot the subtle yet effective aero package, which includes a front splitter, glossy black accents around the bumper intakes, and a rear spoiler extension. To top it off, the rear diffuser now houses quad stainless steel tailpipes, each measuring 102 mm (4 inches) in diameter and finished in matte black.

Inside, ABT has made a few tasteful updates, think custom floor mats, an illuminated start-stop button, and door sills. Otherwise, the cabin keeps its standard sporty vibe, with leather-trimmed sport seats and those cool suede-like inserts. The pictured example also has the triple screen layout, covering every inch of the dashboard.
Although ABT chose the S5 Avant (the more practical wagon) for the photo shoot, the same tuning package should be compatible with the S5 Sedan, the sole bodystyle offered in North America, just without the rear spoiler.
The full ABT Sportsline kit is priced at €14,900 (equal to $16,900), including local taxes, but don’t forget to factor in installation costs. The base price of the Audi S5 Avant starts at €80,150 ($90,700) in Germany, but good luck sticking to that base price once you start ticking options boxes.
