Whether used for hooning around or simply for securing the car while parked, the manual handbrake has been a staple of just about every car’s interior for nearly as long as the automobile has been around. Unfortunately, these days, it’s quickly going extinct. Even enthusiast vehicles like the Honda Civic Type R, Toyota Supra, and Porsche 911 can’t be bothered with a handbrake anymore, with most companies favoring the extra storage space provided by replacing a big lever with a tiny button, and/or the convenience of an automatic parking brake.
