
The Japanese automotive industry has a long history with the modern-does-retro type of car design: think of iconic models like the Nissan Figaro, which combines a 90s platform with a body that takes inspiration from the 1930s. For the most part, however, cars that pay tribute to the history of automotive design tend to fall into the sports car category, and certainly not into the domain of SUVs. The Mitsuoka Buddy, however, has changed that.
