Three-wheeled cars are a curious species. Their history goes back to the very early days of the car, before the industry shifted in favor of four-wheeled vehicles for more stability; throughout the 20th century, countless automakers continued to try and build three-wheeled vehicles, as a legal workaround (like in the case of the Reliant Robin, which could be driven with a motorcycle license) or simply as a design exercise. And the three-wheeled version of the BMW Isetta was popular in the UK for the same reason.
