The OnePlus 15 is likely to have some really good gaming performance based on early hands-on impressions. That shouldn’t be too surprising, given that OnePlus tends to use the best chipset in its flagship device every year. Not to mention load it up with storage, lots of RAM, and then there’s the nice big vapor chamber that the OnePlus 15 design will most likely have. Just like previous models. All these things lead to the OnePlus flagship being a formidable device for high-end mobile gaming, and it seems like the OnePlus 15 is going to continue with this trend.
Of course, how it performs for every single person might vary slightly from the early hands-on testing. It’s also worth noting that we have yet to test the device ourselves. Our experience may vary as well. That being said, it should be pretty close across the board for most people, and that’s an exciting prospect.
OnePlus 15 gaming performance has been improved, but power efficiency is likely to be the big upgrade
When it comes to phones that are good for mobile gaming, the other thing you want out of a device like that is good battery life. It’s tough to say how good the battery life will be on the OnePlus 15 while gaming. After all, we’ve yet to test the device. It also hasn’t been released yet. However, the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 is supposed to have better power efficiency. That could translate to better battery performance during gaming sessions on the OnePlus 15.
According to Geekerwan, battery life scenarios were tested on the upcoming device. Information on those details has not been shared yet, however, because the phone hasn’t been launched. Geekerwan says they’ll share the details in the next video.
They do go over gaming performance. So if you’re less concerned with battery life and more concerned with how well the phone will run high-end games, this is the information you want. In games like Honkai Star Rail, the OnePlus 15 with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 was able to run at a consistent 59.6 frames per second. This isn’t an upgrade over the Snapdragon 8 Elite, which came out with the same score. It was also similar to other chipsets like the Dimensity 9400+, Dimensity 9500, and A19 Pro. So, it seems that where the OnePlus 15 and Qualcomm’s new chip might be an upgrade is with the performance plus the power efficiency.
The device also comes with a 165Hz display, which is a pretty big upgrade over the 120Hz on previous models.
