If you’ve ever wanted to own one of the final Dodge Challenger models with delivery mileage and showroom condition, there’s a small window left before the opportunity vanishes. For those who can’t quite reach Demon 170 money but still want something rare, powerful, and unlikely to tank in value, one option stands above the rest: the Dodge Challenger Hellcat Black Ghost.
Dodge produced just 300 examples of the Hellcat Black Ghost as part of the ‘Last Call’ run of Challenger models. It pays homage to the 1970 Dodge Challenger R/T SE raced by Godfrey Qualls along Woodward Avenue in the 1970s, where the original Black Ghost earned its name and reputation.
Unlike most of the other Last Call editions, the Black Ghost still commands serious attention in the used market. Earlier this week, one sold for $115,000, proof that enthusiasts still see value in this limited run.

Like all others, the car that was listed on Bring A Trailer is finished in Pitch Black with white graphics and sits on 20-inch silver wheels. A look at the window sticker reveals it had an MSRP of $100,865, although it’s unclear if the original owner actually paid that, or if they were hit with a hefty dealer markup.
Judging by its odometer, that owner barely touched it. The car shows only 13 miles, essentially delivery mileage, suggesting it was parked right after arriving home and never unleashed.

Collectors tend to agree that, given how scarce the Black Ghost is, it could easily become a sought-after piece in years to come. Of course, nothing in the used car world is certain, and values may soften over time as the market adjusts, even for special ‘Last Call’ editions.
The powertrain of the Black Ghost is something that cannot be matched by any current Dodge. Fitted with a 6.2-liter supercharged V8, it delivers a monstrous 797 hp and 707 lb-ft of torque. However, as the Black Ghost includes the Jailbreak package, the output is increased to a mega 807 hp.
Until Dodge decides to slot a V8 into the next-generation Charger, a Hellcat-powered Challenger like the Black Ghost remains the truest way to experience classic American muscle at its peak.
