The Ford Crown Victoria, affectionately known as the “Crown Vic”, is one of the most enduring symbols of American law enforcement. Though it looks unassuming (at leas without the intimidating flashing lights and decals), the full-size sedan has dominated police fleets across the United States for two decades from 1992 to 2011; it became the go-to vehicle for pursuits, as patrol cars, and everything in between that the police force may need it for. More than this, this old Ford cop car appeared in countless movies and TV shows, etched in people’s minds, both in the USA and around the world.
