
We recently covered how Nissan scored an acknowledgment from J.D. Power in the 2025 US Initial Quality Survey, with the maker of the Altima being named the best mainstream brand to own, boasting fewer problems per 100 units than competing automakers. Any hopes that this ranking would signal a turning of the tide for the embattled carmaker were short-lived, though, as Nissan now has a recall for nearly half a million units with faulty engines.
