Japan is a wonderful place to visit because the car culture is wildly different from what we’re used to. If you throw a brick in any direction in the USA, you’ll hit at least 13 Ford F-150s, but I failed to spot a single pickup truck during my seven days in this beautiful country. Much like Europe, Japan chose the humble van as its car of choice for delivering stuff, and the most omnipresent of them all is the Toyota Probox, a car I had no idea existed until spotting the very first one within 30 seconds of leaving the airport. And after that, you keep on spotting another unit at 30-second intervals. That’s how many of these things there are.
