When the 2010’s arrived, Porsche was in the middle of a cleanup. It was bowing to more stringent environmental regulations and efficiency demands and turning away from some of its more storied engines towards turbocharged evolution. This meant that the old true racing heart was living on borrowed time, and this shift would sound the death knell for a legendary naturally aspirated flat-six engine.
