In more ways than not, our cars have never been safer, with Asian cars in particular, such as the Honda Accord and Kia Telluride getting top crash scores, and the Mazda brand scoring eight IIHS Top Safety Pick or Top Safety Pick+ awards in 2024. It’s hard to find a vehicle that doesn’t ace at least two out of three of the IIHS’ overall crash tests, small overlap, moderate overlap, and side impact ratings. Advanced driver assistance technology, including front crash avoidance, has become standard in base model vehicles.
