It’s hard (and a little bit sobering) to realize that 2010 was almost 16 years ago. Back then, the automotive world was optimistic about the future of performance, with AWD and dual-clutch automatics driving development, and electrification a couple of years from being in the conversation. That dawn of the new decade also marked the beginning of the end of the manual transmission, as automakers around then started seriously considering, and dropping, the standard option from even the most devout of performance nameplates.
