As classic as the chase scene in a movie, the convoy shot is one of those transition moments where you just know something bad is going to go down. It builds anticipation. Shot from a helicopter (or drone, these days), the camera follows the string of black cars driving bumper to bumper through the New York traffic or somewhere in a Middle-Eastern desert. Every car has blackened windows. And their occupants wear black suits and aviator sunglasses. No one smiles. Sometimes, the driver will have a piece of white, twirly wire running up to his ear. He stays in contact.
