
Chevrolet just took the wraps off the most-powerful American-made production car of all time. The Corvette ZR1X should shame just about everything else on the road and the race track with its 1,250-horsepower twin-turbocharged hybrid powertrain. Why, then, didn’t the automaker commit to calling this record-setting performance ‘Vette Zora – a name that many speculated would be used here? There’s a fairly straightforward explanation, but there’s also potential that Zora could still be a thing someday.
