Jeep is inextricably linked to the U.S. military. Its name comes straight from the nickname for the little all-terrain trucks created for the military in World War II, which led to the civilian CJ line, the Wrangler, and the brand we know today. It wears the connection on its sleeve with badging that says “Since 1941” and the occasional special edition inspired by military Jeeps. Just last year it launched an olive-drab Willys ’41 edition with cool retro wheels. This year, though, it’s Fox Factory leading the charge on a tribute truck with the Jeep Wrangler Commando 392. It offers even more capability than past 392s, at a much lower price. They won’t let just anyone buy one, though.
