The 2026 Nissan Leaf has been voted the Best Budget Car in the inaugural Buzz Awards, one of three accolades awarded to it by editors and test drivers from CarBuzz, HotCars, and TopSpeed. To qualify for this honor, a new vehicle must have a manufacturer’s suggested retail price (MSRP) starting at under $40,000, ensuring it significantly undercuts the average new vehicle transaction price, which topped $50,000 earlier this year. But more than that, the winner in this category had to be packed with value, ensuring budget-minded buyers don’t miss out on safety, comfort, and convenience at this affordable price point.
