French automaker Renault and its performance-oriented Alpine division have been on an electric-vehicle tear in recent years, bringing out such desirable machines as the Renault 5 E-Tech and its Alpine A290 derivative. The French performance automaker recently announced its second-ever EV, a high-riding fastback sedan called the A390. Featuring an edgy, pointed design and tri-motor powertrain, the A390 could also be the first car from a French manufacturer sold in the U.S. since 1991, aiming its triangular headlights squarely at the Porsche Macan Electric and Polestar 4.
