BMW’s current EVs run on a hybrid architecture. The German brand has been touting its advanced EV tech on the new Neue Klasse platform, which it hopes will be just as revolutionary as the original line of “neue klasse” sedans and coupes it launched in the 1960s. BMW’s first Neue Klasse EV is the iX3 crossover, due to arrive in Summer 2026. And the brand calling it “the dawn of a new era” may not be hyperbole.
