Welcome Updates for the Genesis G70
Believe it or not, the Genesis G70 has been around since 2017. It came to the US in 2018 with the BMW 3 Series, Lexus IS, and Cadillac CT4 right in its crosshairs. It was crowned North American Car of the Year in 2019, and has been a relatively decent seller since despite its advancing years.
The 2026 G70 brings with it a few more updates to roll back the years. Chief among which is the addition of the new Prestige Graphite model.

What Graphite Means for Genesis
It’s easy to dismiss it as just another “Black Edition” of sorts. Automakers have been calling their blacked-out trims different names over the years now, but the formula has always been the same. That’s to black out all the exterior trims, give it darker interior trim pieces, and, of course, black wheels.
On the surface, it seems to be the case for this G70 trim. There’s dark chrome surrounding the grille, window surrounds, and rear garnish, plus black mirror caps and brake calipers. Of course, it rides on black wheels, too.
But the Graphite does get a few more goodies one couldn’t get in a regular G70 Prestige that we reckon are worth it.

The Real Upgrade
Okay, so it doesn’t get extra power, but it does come with a chassis upgrade. In this case, it’s a recalibrated electronic suspension system that’s also been lowered by 10 mm. It might not sound like much, but the G70 is one of the more dynamic cars in its class. Any tweaks too the suspension should make it even better around the bends.
On a lesser note, the Graphite models get a unique startup graphics to further differentiate it from the standard model. Further setting it apart is the blue Nappa leather with a suede headliner. Small touches, but it does make this trim a little more special.

V6-Only
We’re not complaining about the fact that the Graphite pack can only be paired with the 3.3-liter V6 turbo engine. It’s good for 368 horsepower and 376 lb-ft of torque, so there’s a fair bit of punch here. But for us, the great part about it is you can get it in either all-wheel drive or rear-wheel drive. We’d gladly take the latter, thank you very much.
So, how much for it? It’s $56,900 for the rear-wheel drive version, and $58,900 for all-wheel drive. That’s $3,300 more than the regular G70 Prestige model.
It’s nice that Genesis is still giving the G70 some attention even after all these years. However, the rumor mill suggests that the 3 Series-fighter might be no more after 2027.
