Texas Health Plano is launching a $343 million expansion: a new eight-story tower with 168 additional beds.
Texas Health Plano, part of the Texas Health Resources hospital system, is located at 6200 W. Parker Road. The new tower will be next to an existing building on the east end of the hospital campus. While construction on a parking garage was completed last fall, work on the tower itself officially began last week.
The Dallas Business Journal reports the first four floors of the 300,000-square-foot tower are expected to open in 2028 with 96 beds. The project also includes three shell floors for future expansion, a basement level with an expanded pharmacy department, upgrades to the emergency department and expanded specialty care in neuroscience, heart and vascular services and digestive health.
Upon completion, the hospital will have 555 licensed beds. The project is also expected to create about 150 new jobs when the first four patient floors open, and up to 450 new positions once the entire tower is fully operational.
