- Tesla introduced its latest master plan, but it remains short on substance.
- Despite numerous challenges, it didn’t mention any meaningful developments.
- It is banking on AI and their Optimus robot, but even those efforts are vague.
Tesla has unveiled their latest master plan, which says a lot without saying much of anything. It’s almost like Elon Musk got bored, so he asked Grok to crank out a vague mission statement.
With that primer out of the way, Tesla is no longer an automaker. It’s an AI company, maybe? It also sounds a bit like a communist revolution as they’re “combining our manufacturing capabilities with our autonomous prowess to deliver new products and services that will accelerate global prosperity and human thriving driven by economic growth shared by all.”

This non-sense goes on and on, before being broken up by meaningless ‘wisdom tokens’ such as “growth is infinite” and “innovation removes constraints.” Besides detouring into bad motivational poster territory, Tesla said “making daily life better – and safer – for all people through our autonomous technology has always been, and continues to be, our focus.”
The company went on to say their first step was the Roadster, which enabled them to fund the development of the Model S and Model X. Their success then led to the popular Model 3 and Model Y, which were followed by the disastrous Cybertruck. However, the company didn’t say what’s next and the Roadster 2.0 is still missing in action.
The lack of details doesn’t inspire much confidence, especially given the company’s numerous challenges. However, Tesla claimed they’re on the “cusp of a revolutionary period primed for unprecedented growth.” Of course, getting there requires action instead of vague statements.
That being said, Musk claimed roughly 80% of Tesla’s value will come from their Optimus robot. That seems far-fetched, but the company said “jobs and tasks that are particularly monotonous or dangerous can now be accomplished by other means. In this way, Optimus’ mission is to give people back more time to do what they love.”
