Tesla is a brand that needs no introduction. Launching in 2008 with the original Tesla Roadster, the brand has gone from strength to strength, launching both critically acclaimed and controversial models since. Its second most popular car, the Model 3, was launched in 2017, catapulting the brand into a household brand. It came with a lot of praise from the automotive press and the public alike, but also became a punching bag for being a badly built car with poor quality control. With one of the touted benefits of electric vehicles being that they have fewer moving parts and therefore have fewer associated maintenance costs, does the average maintenance cost for a Tesla Model 3 prove this theory correct or do the stories of panal gaps and software issues counter any saving?
