Telegram, the popular messaging service, is rolling out a new update for its Android and iOS apps, bringing the version number to 11.13.0 and a couple of useful new features: Telegram Checklists and Suggested Posts. The former will help users keep track of the individual tasks on hand without leaving the app. Meanwhile, ‘Suggested Posts’ is an easier way to organize partnerships and promotions with channels, allowing monetization.
Telegram update adds Checklists and Post Suggestions
Telegram, which reached over 1 billion active users as of March this year, adds Checklists to build user engagement. The feature lets you create interactive Checklists in any chat. This is ideal for team coordination, task management, and even a personal to-do list. Only Telegram Premium users get access to this option. Additionally, the Checklists function enables creators to have control over who can mark items as complete or even add new tasks.

To create a checklist, open the attachment menu and tap ‘checklist.’ Users can send checklists to groups, private 1-on-1 chats, and even their Saved Messages.
On the other hand, the Suggested Posts feature lets subscribers submit content to their favorite channels. This, as the company notes, is a ‘transparent and automated interface.’ These suggested posts can be anything from fan art to promotional videos, product reviews, and more. You can set a specific time and date for the post, or if you can’t decide, selecting ‘Anytime’ lets the channel owner choose when to publish.
Funding Suggested Posts
Users suggesting a post can offer Telegram Stars or Toncoin rewards to the owner for posting the message. You can add this Toncoin to your Telegram account via Fragment, which allows for larger purchases. Meanwhile, Stars can be purchased in bulk via Fragment and @PremiumBot for users on desktop or those who don’t have access to Google or Apple Pay.Â

Monetization via Suggested Posts
Suggested posts allow channels to crowdsource content and even participate in affiliate marketing, all within the Telegram app. This is to protect creators from scams and safeguard their privacy. Furthermore, channel owners reserve the right to suggest any edits and negotiate pricing before approving and publishing.Â
It should be noted that Stars purchased via third-party providers like Apple may be refunded within 21 days, leading to a deduction from your balance. Meanwhile, Toncoin payments are not refunded, making them a secure option.
Prior to this update, Telegram, back in May, joined hands with Elon Musk’s xAI to integrate Grok AI tools into Telegram. The company also received $300 million in cash and equity, strengthening its financial position.
