Target is opening up near a few other big-name tenants in the small town of Stafford. The city of 17,000, located outside Houston, will also be home to a Costco Business Center and an In-N-Out Burger.
The 125,000-square-foot store is situated in The Grid, a 192-acre mixed-use development headed by Edge Realty, located on the former site of a Texas Instruments campus.
The new Target will offer a CVS Pharmacy, Target Optical, and a Starbucks café, as well as drive-up and order pick-up services. The store is slated to employ about 130 people.
The Houston Business Journal reports when the Stafford location opens, Target will have a total of 159 open locations in Texas. At least five more stores are expected to come to the state. That list includes one more Houston-area location in Texas Heritage Marketplace, a $400 million mixed-use project that broke ground in early 2025. The Katy Heritage Target store is expected to be approximately 148,000 square feet.
