Samsung is rolling out the upgraded version of Bixby to many of its 2026 smart home appliances. The list includes Family Hub refrigerators, robot vacuum cleaners, air conditioners, washing machines, and water purifiers. At the moment, this is being offered in the company’s home country, South Korea.

The upgraded Bixby now uses large language models (LLMs) and can understand natural, complex sentences, besides just specific commands. It can also perform multi-step tasks and provide answers to questions about the device. Users can get answers to questions not related to the product using Perplexity.

Users can also get recommendations
Similarly, on an air conditioner, if a user says to Bixby, “Turn it on without airflow,” it will turn on the AC and set the Windfree mode. If a user tells Bixby, “Robot vacuum cleaner, clean quietly,” it will switch the vacuum to Low Noise mode. Bixby can start the AC and turn on the dehumidification function when it rains with just a simple Bixby command: “Please dehumidify with the air conditioner when it rains.”
Similarly, Bixby on Samsung smart home appliances can perform many such actions with just voice commands. Additionally, Samsung notes that on any of the devices with the upgraded Bixby, users can get recommendations like places to go on a spring outing. It also offers useful tips like “how to store onions for a long time.”
As said, the Bixby update is currently rolling out in South Korea. Details regarding its release in other regions are currently not available.
