Sunbelt Investment Holdings proposed a new 160-acre mixed-use project in Buckeye that would feature both multifamily and single-family housing along with retail and a business park.
Buckeye’s Planning and Zoning Commission recommended approval of the developer’s request to rezone the site at the southwest corner of Verrado Way and Yuma Road. Separately, Sunbelt Investment Holdings is seeking annexation of the site from Maricopa County to the city of Buckeye.
The Phoenix Business Journal reports the rezoning and accompanying annexation requests are expected to be voted on at an April City Council meeting. If approved, Sunbelt’s latest Valley investment will include various uses.
They include a 14-acre parcel dedicated to commercial space, while another 46-acre parcel will be designated for a business park. The housing component will include 33 acres for multifamily development.
