- BMW offers an all-white leather interior option for the M3 Touring in South Africa.
- The white leather covers seats, dashboard, console, doors, pillars, and steering wheel.
- It’s unclear if any other global markets offer this same white leather interior option.
The BMW M3 Touring is one of the hottest performance cars on the market at the moment, combining exceptional levels of speed and handling prowess, all while looking the part and having more than enough space for a small family. Buyers in South Africa can also opt for a very striking interior configuration that looks great, but is bound to be very impractical.

A recent post made to the BMW page on Reddit reveals that in South Africa, the M3 Touring is available with all-white leather upholstery as a no-cost option. The performance estate is available in other markets with seats clad in white leather, but this is the first time we’ve seen an option that includes this much white leather.

Not only does the plush material cover the front and rear seats, but it wraps around the transmission tunnel and center console, almost the entirety of the door panels, and the steering wheel. Additionally, but the pillars and headliner are also finished in white fabric. The white leather also extends across most of the dashboard, only being interrupted by a strip of carbon fiber across the center, and of course, the two large displays.
It all looks very cool, but keeping it that way would be a full-time job. The M3 Touring may be a 530-plus-horsepower missile, but plenty of owners going for a wagon will be buckling in kids with sticky hands and tossing juice boxes in the back. White leather and family life mix about as well as oil and water.
Then there’s the issue of the white leather dashboard. For as premium as it looks, it probably creates some horrible reflections on the windshield, impacting visibility on sunny days. Not only that, but we’d worry about how the dash will age after years of sun exposure, and it could start to degrade or yellow over time.
What About Other Options?
Fortunately for those not willing to deal with maintaining an all-white leather interior, BMW offers a slew of other interior configurations for the M3 Touring, including ones that combine black components with others finished in Yas Marina Blue, Kyalami Orange, and others.
